Sesame-Garlic Nori Chips

Ingredients


4 nori seaweed (sheets)

1/3 cup water

1 1/4 tablespoons sesame seeds

1/2 teaspoon garlic

1/2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 pinch sea salt

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Introduction

This amazingly healthy yet tasty snack is made with iodine-loaded nori. If you are cutting down on iodized salt, getting sufficient iodine can prove difficult. By incorporating nori into your diet, you can quickly tackle this problem while also getting potassium, vitamin A, and magnesium. The garlic in this snack will also help you lower cholesterol levels (thanks to its allicin), blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F or 135 degrees C and prepare a baking sheet with wax paper.
Finely cut the garlic. Add the olive oil to a small bowl along with the paprika, onion powder and salt. Mix well.
Put a nori sheet on a flat surface (on which you can easily cut), brush the shiny side of the nori with some water while making sure to reach the edges, then add another sheet on top and flatten it with your hand. Repeat this procedure with all the nori sheets.
After all sheets are well attached, cut them longitudinally with a sharp knife to create even pieces. Brush the oil mixture on top of the sheets and bake the chips for about 15-20 minutes until they have slightly inflated.
Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top and allow them to cool before eating for maximum crunch.
