Ingredients


1/2 cup carrot (raw)

1/2 banana (frozen)

3/4 cup almond milk

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (powder)

1 tablespoon plant-based gluten-free protein powder

1 teaspoon chia seeds

6 tablespoons water

Introduction

Carrot cake might not top the list of healthy detox foods, but this carrot cake smoothie fits the bill! The vitamin A from the carrots is accompanied by some cinnamon (anti-inflammatory properties) and nutmeg (helps with indigestion relief and boosts brain power). Blend it all up with chia seeds for some added antioxidants and make the whole mixture super-creamy and smooth by freezing the bananas beforehand.

Preparation

Soak the chia seeds in water for about 5 minutes.
Wash and peel the carrots. Cut them into cubes.
Place the almond milk, banana, carrots, protein powder, nutmeg and cinnamon in a blender. Blend until smooth.
Finally, add the water with chia seeds and mix with a spoon.
Serve the smoothie with ice.
