Ingredients


1/2 cup pitted dates

1/4 cup desiccated coconut

1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil

1 teaspoon spirulina (powder)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Introduction

Good sources of protein and iron are important in every diet, and even more so in a plant-based diet. Spirulina is an amazing source of all those vitamins and has been proven to work as a detoxifier against heavy metals in the body. Moreover, it can help lower cholesterol and blood pressure.

Preparation

Soak the dates for 5 minutes in hot water and drain them.
Blend the ingredients in a food processor until well blended.
Shape the mixture into balls, roll them in coconut and/or cacao and refrigerate until firm.
